Ideas for using my handmade paper and handmade books

I’m sharing with you fun ideas on how I use my handmade paper and handmade books.

#1 Use handmade paper to bind notebooks

I bind the notebooks with a French link and the Kettle stitch technique. They have double-layered glue on the spine, making it strong and allowing it to be laid flat.

#2 Use handmade notebooks to journal, paint, sketch, and collect memories while traveling

My handmade paper is textured and absorbent. Here are my medium suggestions:

  • The drier the medium, the better!
  • Medium to large pen tips work well. I like 0.7+ mm.
  • For writing & sketching: I love using mechanical pencils, ballpoint pens, and gel pens.
  • For painting: I enjoy pastels, rayons, acrylic, and gouache (with little water added if any).

#3 Use handmade paper to make stickers

I enjoy carving rubber blocks into fun designs like butts, wild animals, cats, etc. Then I stamp the blocks on the paper, stick each paper on a sticker sheet, and cut out the stamps individually. And that’s how I make paper stickers!

#4 Use handmade paper to make mini coloring books

I use my kitty stamps to make the coloring outlines. You have total freedom to color and design your own kitties.
